Baptismal Water in a dream
Biblical meaning from Hearing God's Voice in Dreams by Apostle Nicholas V. Mbanjwa
Also: Baptism water, Immersion water, Being baptised, Baptismal pool
What it means
A need to die to the old self.
An opportunity for newness; newness of life on the other side of a burial.
Baptism is a burial before it is a rising. The water is not a washing of dirt from the flesh but the answer of a good conscience toward God.
✦ When it is positive
- Death of the old self and life out of death
- Public identification with Christ
- A clean beginning
⚠ When it is a warning
- Refusing the water
- Baptism sought as ritual without the death it signifies
How to tell the difference
Distinguish baptismal water, which concerns DEATH AND NEWNESS, from ordinary washing, which concerns cleansing, and from crossing water, which concerns transition. Note who performs the baptism and whether the dreamer comes up out of the water.
Scripture
3Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4We were buried therefore with him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.
Romans 6:3-4 (WEB)
having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.
Colossians 2:12 (WEB)
This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you—not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God—through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
