Covenant in a dream
Biblical meaning from Hearing God's Voice in Dreams by Apostle Nicholas V. Mbanjwa
Also: Blood covenant, Divine agreement, Testament, Binding agreement
What it means
A solemn, binding promise and relationship between God and people.
A binding promise between two persons; a contract or agreement.
Covenant in Scripture is cut, not merely spoken. It is sealed with blood, a token, or a meal, and it binds beyond the feelings of those who made it.
✦ When it is positive
- A binding promise between God and man
- A faithful agreement between two people
- The new covenant written on the heart rather than on stone
⚠ When it is a warning
- A covenant broken or profaned
- A covenant entered with what is not God
- An agreement the dreamer did not knowingly consent to
How to tell the difference
Identify the PARTIES and the TOKEN. A covenant made with an unknown figure, or sealed by a meal, ring, blood or intimacy with someone who is not the dreamer's spouse, should be examined for a familiar spirit rather than read as blessing. Two cannot walk together except they be agreed.
