Lampstand in a dream

Biblical meaning from Hearing God's Voice in Dreams by Apostle Nicholas V. Mbanjwa

Also: Menorah, Golden lampstand, Candlestick, Seven-branched lampstand

What it means

The universal Church as the light of the world.

The lampstand is a set of connected lamps standing on one stem, representing believers joined in one life and drawing from a single source — Christ, represented by the central shaft.

In Revelation the lampstands are the churches, and a lampstand can be removed from its place.

✦ When it is positive

  • Believers as the light of the world
  • The Body of Christ as one unity drawing from one central shaft

⚠ When it is a warning

  • A lampstand with no burning lamps, representing a church without influence or testimony
  • A lampstand removed, representing a testimony withdrawn

How to tell the difference

A single branch of the lampstand represents a local church; the whole lampstand represents the universal Church. Note whether the lamps are lit, whether there is oil, and whether any branch is broken or dark.

Having turned, I saw seven golden lamp stands. 13And among the lamp stands was one like a son of man, clothed with a robe reaching down to his feet, and with a golden sash around his chest. 14His head and his hair were white as white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire. 15His feet were like burnished brass, as if it had been refined in a furnace. His voice was like the voice of many waters.
