Next of Kin in a dream

Biblical meaning from Hearing God's Voice in Dreams by Apostle Nicholas V. Mbanjwa

Also: Kinsman, Kinsman-redeemer, Relative

What it means

A dream manifestation of Jesus Christ as your Redeemer — one who enforces a lapsed claim, re-claims, and vindicates.

The go'el (kinsman-redeemer) also had the responsibility of avenging blood — so seeing this figure in a dream assures restoration, defense, and victory over enemies.

✦ When it is positive

Jesus Christ as your Redeemer
Restoration, defense, and victory over enemies
Redemption of what was lost

How to tell the difference

Cambridge Bible for Schools and Colleges definition cited: the go'el is 'one who enforces a claim which has lapsed; one who re-claims or re-vindicates.'

Scripture

⁶Otherwise, the avenger of blood might pursue the man slayer while hot anger is in his heart and overtake him, because the way is long, and strike him mortally, even though he was not worthy of death, because he didn’t hate him in time past. ¹²then the elders of his city shall send and bring him there, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die.
