Snake in a dream

Biblical meaning from Hearing God's Voice in Dreams by Apostle Nicholas V. Mbanjwa

Also: Serpent, Snakes

What it means

A lie, deception; can also represent a highly intelligent, persuasive, charismatic individual used by the devil to deceive many — unknowingly.

Scholars believe a snake was originally created with outstanding beauty and brilliance — shiny. So sometimes God reveals an intelligent, influential person in a dream as a snake — not necessarily meaning the person is evil, but that they are being used by the devil unknowingly through their oratory, brilliance, and charisma.

A snake can also mean an evil attack or something satanic.

⚠ When it is a warning

  • Lies and deception
  • A brilliantly charismatic person being used by the devil unknowingly to deceive many
  • An evil attack or satanic operation
  • The devil himself
  • Being sexually approached by a snake — an oppressive spirit seeking a false covenant; when several members of a family report it, look for a door opened in the household

How to tell the difference

The author shares a personal testimony: when his daughter was 19 months old his wife dreamt three snakes trying to attack her. They prayed and vetoed the enemy's plan — later the daughter was attacked in three areas but not harmed. Three snakes = three specific areas of attack to pray against. Dr. Mensa Otabil is cited on 'horns' (Hebrew for brilliance) as those who blind people with brilliance.

Scripture

3Another sign was seen in heaven. Behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads seven crowns. 4His tail drew one third of the stars of the sky, and threw them to the earth. The dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child.
