Armour in a dream

Biblical meaning from Hearing God's Voice in Dreams by Apostle Nicholas V. Mbanjwa

Also: Armor, Suit of armor, Full armour of God, Breastplate

What it means

Being physically protected; God having the dreamer secured.

Safety; being divinely kept; being under God's presence.

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. It is His armour, not the wearer's own manufacture.

✦ When it is positive

  • The dreamer's physical body being targeted, but God keeping them protected
  • Standing rather than falling

⚠ When it is a warning

  • A crack in the armour, representing a character flaw that leaves the dreamer exposed to the enemy
  • Armour worn that was never proved, as Saul's armour on David

How to tell the difference

NOTE ANY GAP OR CRACK — that detail identifies where the attack is directed, and usually points to character rather than circumstance. Note also whether the armour is the dreamer's own or borrowed.

Scripture

38Saul dressed David with his clothing. He put a helmet of bronze on his head, and he clad him with a coat of mail. 39David strapped his sword on his clothing and he tried to move, for he had not tested it. David said to Saul, “I can’t go with these, for I have not tested them.” Then David took them off.
