Shadow in a dream

Biblical meaning from Hearing God's Voice in Dreams by Apostle Nicholas V. Mbanjwa

Also: Silhouette, Dark shade, A shadow, Shadowy figure

What it means

What is temporary, fleeting and passing away — and the Old Testament as a shadow of what was to come.

A promise of the real thing yet to come. The law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things.

Our days upon earth are a shadow. What casts no substance of its own cannot hold.

✦ When it is positive

  • The shadow of a real thing to come
  • Being covered under the shadow of the Almighty

⚠ When it is a warning

  • A shadow that is aggressive or frightening in the dream, representing a spiritual entity revealing itself as a threat when it is in truth only a weak figure

How to tell the difference

A SHADOW HAS NO SUBSTANCE OF ITS OWN. Where a shadow menaces the dreamer, the counsel is that it is presenting itself as more than it is. Do not magnify it. Distinguish this from Shade, which is defence and covering.
