Tares in a dream
Biblical meaning from Hearing God's Voice in Dreams by Apostle Nicholas V. Mbanjwa
Also: Weeds among wheat, Darnel, Weeds
What it means
A wicked person, demonic work, evil, and what the enemy has planted.
Tares look like wheat until the harvest, which is why they are left to grow together rather than uprooted early.
Distractions and the cares of this world that choke the word, so that it becomes unfruitful.
✦ When it is positive
- Tares left standing until harvest, representing God's patience rather than His indifference
⚠ When it is a warning
- Wickedness planted deliberately by an enemy
- Laziness and ruin, as in the field of the slothful
How to tell the difference
Note WHO planted them: the tares are sown by an enemy while men slept. If the dreamer is pulling them up prematurely, the dream may caution against acting before God's timing, since the servants were forbidden to gather them lest they root up the wheat with them. Distinguish tares from thorns, which choke rather than counterfeit.
Scripture
24He set another parable before them, saying, “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field, 25but while people slept, his enemy came and sowed darnel weeds also among the wheat, and went away. 26But when the blade sprang up and produced grain, then the darnel weeds appeared also. 27The servants of the householder came and said to him, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where did these darnel weeds come from?’

36Then Jesus sent the multitudes away, and went into the house. His disciples came to him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the darnel weeds of the field.” 37He answered them, “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man, 38the field is the world, the good seeds are the children of the Kingdom, and the darnel weeds are the children of the evil one. 39The enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels.

What was sown among the thorns, this is he who hears the word, but the cares of this age and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.
Matthew 13:22 (WEB)
30I went by the field of the sluggard, by the vineyard of the man void of understanding. 31Behold, it was all grown over with thorns. Its surface was covered with nettles, and its stone wall was broken down.
