What it means

A burden or heaviness imposed upon a person; spiritual slavery.

A load of overwhelming responsibility carried on the shoulders.

A yoke joins two animals to one task. What the yoke means therefore depends entirely on who or what the dreamer is joined to.

The yoke of Christ, which is easy — discipleship and laying down one's life for His peace
Being yoked with another believer, representing shared responsibility and joint labour

⚠ When it is a warning

Spiritual slavery and bondage
Being unequally yoked, representing a mismatched union

How to tell the difference

If the yoke is upon the dreamer and the dream is peaceful, bright or colourful, it represents discipleship. If the dream is gloomy and the dreamer feels oppressed or weighed down, it represents spiritual oppression. Note who else is under the same yoke.
