Being Unable to Speak in a dream

Biblical meaning from Hearing God's Voice in Dreams by Apostle Nicholas V. Mbanjwa

Also: Loss of voice, Muted, Cannot speak, No voice in a dream, Voice taken away

What it means

Under sleep paralysis this represents spiritual oppression and indicates spiritual warfare. In an ordinary dream it represents loss of influence — being muted or silenced.

Being spiritually silenced.

The dreamer's inability to speak is often the point of the attack, since the voice is the instrument of authority. Where the mouth is stopped, the aim is to prevent the naming of the Name.

✦ When it is positive

  • Silence in the awe of God's sovereignty, where the dream is bright and reverent rather than oppressive

⚠ When it is a warning

  • Being deprived of spiritual authority
  • Being deprived of a voice or an opinion
  • Spiritual oppression under sleep paralysis

How to tell the difference

DISTINGUISH THE TWO CASES. With sleep paralysis — waking, aware, unable to move or speak — treat it as warfare and see Being Unable to Move for the counsel. In an ordinary dream with no paralysis, read it as influence lost or a voice suppressed. The dreamer should not be left in fear: He shall give His angels charge over thee.
