Empty House in a dream
Biblical meaning from Hearing God's Voice in Dreams by Apostle Nicholas V. Mbanjwa
Also: Vacant house, House with nothing in it, Empty home, Unoccupied house
What it means
A heart that has been cleansed from evil but left unoccupied by the Holy Spirit.
A life void of meaning; someone feeling empty and purposeless.
He findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself. Emptiness is not safety.
✦ When it is positive
- A house that was in a mess, then cleaned and left empty, representing a life brought to order — provided it is then filled
⚠ When it is a warning
- Emptiness
- Meaninglessness
- No purpose
- Loneliness
- Hopelessness
How to tell the difference
THE DANGER IS THE VACANCY. Cleansing without filling invites a worse return — moral reform is not the same as being indwelt. See Sweeping, which carries the same warning. A RUINED house represents a life that is despairing and destroyed, which is a different matter from one merely empty.
Scripture
43“When an unclean spirit has gone out of a man, he passes through waterless places seeking rest, and doesn’t find it. 44Then he says, ‘I will return into my house from which I came;’ and when he has come back, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. 45Then he goes and takes with himself seven other spirits more evil than he is, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that man becomes worse than the first. Even so will it be also to this evil generation.”
