Unfinished House in a dream
Biblical meaning from Hearing God's Voice in Dreams by Apostle Nicholas V. Mbanjwa
Also: Incomplete house, Half-built house, House under construction, Unfinished building
What it means
Incomplete commitment, human limitation, or a life still under spiritual construction.
A work in progress.
Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it. What is unfinished raises the question of who is building.
✦ When it is positive
- A life in the process of being constructed and built
- God working in the dreamer
- He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ
⚠ When it is a warning
- A house left unfinished for a long time, representing an obstacle
- Beginning to build without counting the cost
How to tell the difference
Note HOW LONG it has stood unfinished and WHO is building. Recent construction points to God's ongoing work; long abandonment points to something stalled that needs attention. See Constructing for the ministry of building people.
Scripture
Unless the LORD builds the house, they who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain.
Psalm 127:1 (WEB)
28For which of you, desiring to build a tower, doesn’t first sit down and count the cost, to see if he has enough to complete it? 29Or perhaps, when he has laid a foundation and isn’t able to finish, everyone who sees begins to mock him, 30saying, ‘This man began to build and wasn’t able to finish.’
Luke 14:28-30 (WEB)
being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
