Grafting in a dream
Biblical meaning from Hearing God's Voice in Dreams by Apostle Nicholas V. Mbanjwa
Also: Grafting branches, Wild olive graft, Engrafted
What it means
Inclusion by grace.
Being made a partaker of a life that was not one's own by birth.
The wild branch does not change the root; the root changes the branch. The graft draws from the tree, and boasts against nothing.
✦ When it is positive
- Grafted into the vine, representing partaking of Christ's life with Christ as the vine
- Being brought into a covenant one had no natural claim to
⚠ When it is a warning
- Branches broken off through unbelief
- Presumption on the part of the branch that was grafted in
How to tell the difference
Note whether the dreamer is being grafted IN or broken OFF, and what stock they are joined to. Grafting always implies a life received rather than generated.
Scripture
17But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them and became partaker with them of the root and of the richness of the olive tree, 18don’t boast over the branches. But if you boast, remember that it is not you who support the root, but the root supports you. 19You will say then, “Branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.” 20True; by their unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by your faith. Don’t be conceited, but fear;
Romans 11:17-24 (WEB)
4Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. 5I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
