What it means

The releasing or discharge of contents — liquid, spirit, wrath or mercy — from a source onto a person, place or object.

Consecration, anointing, judgment, or the overwhelming experience of grief, prayer or divine presence.

Pour out your heart before Him. What is poured is given wholly, without keeping back a portion.

The pouring out of God's wrath upon the disobedient

How to tell the difference

WHAT IS POURED REVEALS THE SOURCE. Water or oil signifies cleansing and blessing; blood or wrath signifies judgment or violence. Note also who pours, onto whom, and whether the vessel is emptied completely.
