Standing Still in a dream
Biblical meaning from Hearing God's Voice in Dreams by Apostle Nicholas V. Mbanjwa
Also: Standing your ground, Holding position, Not moving, Standing firm
What it means
Trusting in the Lord; ceasing from one's own strength; taking one's position and standing one's ground.
Yielding to God; depending on God's ability and strength rather than one's own effort.
Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord. The command was given at the moment when running seemed the only option.
✦ When it is positive
- Being grounded in Christ
- One's spiritual stance and position
- Protecting one's territory
- Defending one's heavenly inheritance
⚠ When it is a warning
- In a warning dream or negative context: complacency, not claiming what is one's own, unbelief, fear, spiritual paralysis
- Being settled on the lees — at ease where God has called for movement
How to tell the difference
THE TONE DECIDES. Standing still in peace is faith ceasing from self-effort. Standing still in a dark or warning dream is complacency or fear. Note whether the dreamer is told to stand or simply cannot move — if the latter, see Being Unable to Move.
