White Cloth in a dream

Biblical meaning from Hearing God's Voice in Dreams by Apostle Nicholas V. Mbanjwa

Also: Imanzi cloth, White garment, White material, Piece of white cloth

What it means

Purity, sanctification, cleansing, holiness and a heavenly calling.

Spiritual readiness; the reward of righteousness; priestly work.

His raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow. White in Scripture marks what heaven has cleansed rather than what man has bleached.

✦ When it is positive

  • Priestly work
  • Holiness
  • A heavenly calling
  • The fine linen which is the righteousness of saints

⚠ When it is a warning

  • Self-righteousness; righteousness based on effort
  • A DEAD PERSON giving the dreamer a white cloth, or wearing white, representing deception by a familiar spirit to heed a calling to divine (ukuthwasa)

How to tell the difference

REJECTING the gesture signals spiritual victory. ACCEPTING the cloth, or accepting the dead person wearing it, signals consent — the dreamer must wake and cancel it, renouncing the deception. IDENTIFYING THE SPIRIT: a dead person wearing white, blue or silver with white clay on the face represents a familiar spirit of the abaShuwe category; cloth in red and blue indicates a Ndau spirit; red, brown or ochre indicates amaNdiki. AbaShuwe speak pure Nguni; Ndau speak a foreign dialect. This identification matters because the spirit can then be renounced or cast out by name. HOWEVER, THIS MUST ALWAYS BE SAID: with one who is not in Christ such spirits can and do establish covenants. For those in Christ, they cannot establish a covenant, because Christ's covenant already secures the believer. They may, however, seek to establish a spiritual influence, deceptive agreement, or foothold through temptation, deception, or unrepented sin, which may provide an occasion — sometimes described as 'legal ground' — for spiritual oppression, though never for overturning Christ's covenant. Never deliver the identification without this assurance.
