Womb in a dream
Biblical meaning from Hearing God's Voice in Dreams by Apostle Nicholas V. Mbanjwa
Also: Matrix, Place of conception, The womb, Uterus
What it means
A place that incubates gifts and purposes; fertility, increase and multiplication; a place of being set apart; divine calling.
Compassion, love and mercy.
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee. The womb in Scripture is where calling precedes birth.
✦ When it is positive
- Fruitfulness
- Multiplication and increase
- Productivity
- Life-giving
- Being set apart before birth
⚠ When it is a warning
- Barrenness
- Innate human sinfulness — shapen in iniquity and conceived in sin
How to tell the difference
Distinguish the WOMB (incubation, calling, what is being formed) from the STOMACH (the spirit man, appetite, keeping secrets). A dream of a womb usually concerns something being carried and prepared rather than something being consumed. Note whether it is full, empty, or being examined.
Scripture
Behold, I was born in iniquity. My mother conceived me in sin.
Psalm 51:5 (WEB)
The wicked go astray from the womb. They are wayward as soon as they are born, speaking lies.
Psalm 58:3 (WEB)
13For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. 15My frame wasn’t hidden from you, when I was made in secret, woven together in the depths of the earth. 16Your eyes saw my body. In your book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there were none of them.
Psalm 139:13-16 (WEB)
“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I sanctified you. I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
Jeremiah 1:5 (WEB)
