What it means

Muti is the medium, not the source. In the spiritual realm, objects seen in dreams rarely have power on their own; they act as symbols or legal instruments. The muti itself (whether it appears as powders, liquids, herbs or animal hides) is merely a tool. Behind it is the source, which can be ancestral spirits, familiar spirits, or malicious human intent (witchcraft).

Muti administered, consumed or forced on you: being made to drink a concoction, washed with muti, or having it rubbed on your body represents jurisdiction and claim. It is a symbolic transaction. Accepting or interacting with the muti in the dream acts as a spiritual signature or consent, giving the unseen forces behind it the legal “right” to operate in your life, like witchcraft. Under normal circumstances, witchcraft has to first seek permission in dreams before it manifests physically.

The transfer of affliction: the conduit transfers specific spiritual conditions, such as stagnation, confusion, sickness or a false calling, from the spirit realm into your physical reality.

Being given muti, or digging up plants for healing: if you dream of being handed muti, or find yourself digging up plants to use as medicine for yourself or others, this indicates that you possess a God-given healing or prophetic gift (Jeremiah 1:5).

The enemy’s diversion: rather than allowing your gift to operate under the Holy Spirit, familiar or ancestral spirits in your family line are attempting to shrewdly divert and hijack that calling. They use the symbol of muti as a conduit to redirect your divine gift into traditional divination or ancestral servitude.

The threat: receiving muti in a dream is an attempt by these entities to establish an unauthorised spiritual pipeline, subtly framing an ancestral calling as the only way to express your inherent gift.

Using or administering muti yourself: when a believer dreams of using, applying, drinking or administering muti, it signifies a compromise taking place in the believer’s life. It can also mean resorting to ungodly principles to control or manipulate your destiny.
