Paralysis in a dream
Biblical meaning from Hearing God's Voice in Dreams by Apostle Nicholas V. Mbanjwa
Also: Inability to move limbs, Loss of function, Paralysed, Cannot use the body
What it means
Inward spiritual stagnation; being robbed of freedom, virtue and capacity.
Total dependency; being in need of support; mental destitution.
They brought a man sick of the palsy, borne of four. He could not come himself, and the faith that brought him was the faith of others.
✦ When it is positive
- Being carried to Christ by others when unable to come oneself
- Being told to rise, take up the bed and walk
⚠ When it is a warning
- Being spiritually immobile
- Being deprived of spiritual progress
- Spiritual helplessness
- Being spiritually dependent on others
How to tell the difference
Distinguish PARALYSIS (a settled condition of stagnation, often needing others' faith and intervention) from BEING UNABLE TO MOVE (an episode of oppression during sleep paralysis, requiring the counsel given under that symbol). Note whether anyone carries the dreamer.
Scripture
1When he entered again into Capernaum after some days, it was heard that he was at home. 2Immediately many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even around the door; and he spoke the word to them. 3Four people came, carrying a paralytic to him. 4When they could not come near to him for the crowd, they removed the roof where he was. When they had broken it up, they let down the mat that the paralytic was lying on.
Mark 2:1-12 (WEB)
5A certain man was there who had been sick for thirty-eight years. 6When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had been sick for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to be made well?” 7The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I’m coming, another steps down before me.” 8Jesus said to him, “Arise, take up your mat, and walk.”
John 5:5-9 (WEB)
2A certain man who was lame from his mother’s womb was being carried, whom they laid daily at the door of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask gifts for the needy of those who entered into the temple. 3Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive gifts for the needy. 4Peter, fastening his eyes on him, with John, said, “Look at us.” 5He listened to them, expecting to receive something from them.
