Twin in a dream
Biblical meaning from Hearing God's Voice in Dreams by Apostle Nicholas V. Mbanjwa
Also: Having a twin, My twin, Twin brother, Twin sister, Double of myself
What it means
Dreaming of having a twin the dreamer does not have in reality represents a struggle — duality, two opposite sides of the self, the two natures of flesh and spirit contrary to one another.
Two equal measures of one's life in conflict; a conflict between two things that are alike.
The children struggled together within her. Jacob and Esau contended before either had done good or evil, and Zerah's hand came out first though Pharez was born first — the order of twins in Scripture is never simple.
✦ When it is positive
- Being given two equally important assignments
- Holding two ministry responsibilities or gifts at the same level
⚠ When it is a warning
- Two principles opposing each other, where the dreamer must submit to one
- Two things of equal magnitude and stature standing in opposition
How to tell the difference
THE STRUGGLE IS THE POINT — the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and these are contrary the one to the other. Note whether the twin is friendly or hostile, and whether one prevails. Distinguish from TWINS, which concerns two aspects of a calling coming to fruition rather than an inner conflict.
Scripture
19This is the history of the generations of Isaac, Abraham’s son. Abraham became the father of Isaac. 20Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Paddan Aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian, to be his wife. 21Isaac entreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren. The LORD was entreated by him, and Rebekah his wife conceived. 22The children struggled together within her. She said, “If it is like this, why do I live?” She went to inquire of the LORD.

27In the time of her travail, behold, twins were in her womb. 28When she travailed, one put out a hand, and the midwife took and tied a scarlet thread on his hand, saying, “This came out first.” 29As he drew back his hand, behold, his brother came out, and she said, “Why have you made a breach for yourself?” Therefore his name was called Perez. 30Afterward his brother came out, who had the scarlet thread on his hand, and his name was called Zerah.
